The Heart Behind The Pastor's Wife

Real life is messy. Ministry is hard. And being a woman? That’s a full-time calling. Here’s the heart behind this space—and why I believe women need more grace, less pressure, and a whole lot more Jesus (and maybe a snack in the pantry).

Welcome to The Pastor’s Wife

Real life. Real faith. Real grace.

I’ve been a pastor’s wife for the last nine years—but my ministry journey started long before that. My husband and I spent seven years in youth ministry, five years in young adult ministry, and if we’re being honest, most of those years involved late-night Taco Bell runs, worship nights that ran into the next morning, and heart-to-hearts with teens who just needed someone to listen.

But no matter the age or season, one thing has always stayed the same:
I’ve had a passion for teaching and encouraging girls and women to see their worth through God’s eyes.

Because let’s face it—there are a lot of lies out there about who we’re supposed to be.
We’re told we need to be:

  • Pretty (but not too pretty)

  • Fit (but not obsessed)

  • Calm and sweet (but not boring)

  • Successful (but always available)

  • All while raising kids, making Pinterest-worthy meals, running the laundry marathon, scheduling dentist appointments, contributing financially, and somehow still fitting in “me time.”

Y’all. That’s not real life.
That’s a recipe for exhaustion.

Being a woman—especially a Christian woman in today’s culture—is messy, loud, emotional, sacred, and sometimes hilariously chaotic. It’s also incredibly beautiful when we understand that our worth doesn’t come from performance, perfection, or a clean kitchen.

Our worth comes from the God who made us.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
—Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

God created us with a divine purpose:
To complete our husbands, not compete with them.
To nurture and raise the next generation.
To build up—not tear down—the women beside us.
To carry His grace in our hearts (and sometimes in our diaper bags).

We’re not meant to do this alone.
But too often, we compare instead of connect.
We scroll, judge, envy, shrink… when really, what we need is companionship, not competition.

“So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
—1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NLT)

We understand each other.
We know what it’s like to cry in the closet, hide in the bathroom with a snack, or go to war with a laundry mountain.
But we also know how powerful it is when another woman says, “Me too. You’re not alone.”

And that’s why I created The Pastor’s Wife
Not just as a blog, but as a place where women can feel seen, supported, and spiritually encouraged.
Where faith meets real life.
Where we talk about motherhood, marriage, ministry, and the messiness in between—with Jesus at the center and joy in the margins.

I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s grow together. Let’s laugh together. Let’s pray through the hard stuff and praise through the good.

You were never meant to do this alone.
Welcome to the sisterhood.
